EBM 3023 - Unfairness between 2 classes

This the issue of unfairness and bias of both lecturers and tutors for our EBM 3023 - Marketing Research course. This is due to the separation of our marketing course which is divided into two and the question of the assignments is different resulting one assignment easier than the others - Assignment 2. Besides that, the format for both assignment 1 and 2 contradict with the marking scheme of the tutors. As a result having relationship with the tutor gets a better marks than those who didn't regardless of the content. Format was strictly told to follow but in the end there are some students who does not follow the format were not being penalize. Is this fair? Only the lecturer knows.

In addition, the tutorials were conducted by different tutor but there is also a bias where one group gets higher than the other. Reason is unknown but the task, requirement and classes is the same. I'm not bull crapping as I will present my findings soon. Please be aware that the standards on each class is similar as there is good and poor students in each group and I'm taking the average from it.

Findings:

Class 1 - by Dr E. and Mr J. (84 student)

Average:
Assignment 1: 13.31/20
Assignment 2: 13.41/20
Tutorial: 15.61/20
Total: 42.14/60 (70.24%)

Class 2 -by Mr M. and Mr L. (93 student)

Average:
Assignment 1: 13.48/20
Assignment 2: 15.09/20
Tutorial: 16.6/20
Total: 44.68/60 (74.46%)

Conclusion:
The assignment 1 is the same for both class, thus we could see the standards is the same - thus show the equal knowledge of both class. Assignment 2 shows a significant different - Class 2 score better which is due to easier question and lenient in marking. Tutorials also shows significant different - Class 2 score higher which shows the tutor is being bias. Overall the score seems not to be much different (just by merely 2) but that is the average and in overall context - 2 to 3 marks may meant a grade after adjustment. OMG !!!

Thus from the comparison and conclusion. Is the system being fair? I totally agree that, it is not fair at all. I hope those lecturers & tutors can sleep well. I'm cursing every each of them for being unfair to us. Hope they will meet the similar dilemma like us and suffer for eternally.

EXTRA: According to Dr E - Your assignments had been added 6 marks (BULLSHIT !!!) Is the same as before and if any error, please come and find me (BULLCRAP !!!) don't waste my time. Go to hell !!!

Tutorial 4 TMT 1013

Today, is a start of a new week. TMT1013 has it's last lab session. Luckily I have go, today the lab have its final tutorial. I do not know how to answer the tutorials but good thing is I have been able to finish it. Correct or wrong is not the issue as long as I can finish it. Besides that, I have skipped two tutorials as I'm always been busy and my lazy butt stop me from attending the lab. LOL but this is me. Feel a lot lighter now.

For the tutorial, this is the hardest one as UNIMAS had experience server down. Haha, hard because hard to find answer in the web. Haha We as a class should work together and solve the question together - but forget it la. No point sharing my knowledge with people. No benefit at all.

When we all thinking about celebrating the end of TMT1013, there is still a special class on Thursday (15/10/09). Where Mr. Shahrul will tell us tips and ways to score in the final. Is 40% so no joke. Maybe I can also get the carry marks. XD It would be best if I can score 50 out of 60

So far I already get 8/10 in my translation (Satisfied)

Next would be Marketing Research where I hate the most. I will tell you guys why later, but it is a good thing that it had ended today - Last class again Haha XD

Tonight would be focusing on Dr. K's topic - a new target 'A' for me

The End of Semester

The end of this semester is coming soon, very very soon but all my stuffs have not been settled yet. Damn busy with assignments especially the final year project. I'm still struggling with my chapter 2 and chapter 3 should start soon. I wanted to the best and not just simply doing it for the sake of doing it. I will do my best and hopefully Dr. Chu my supervisor would be satisfied. I hate when time is pushing me but this is the world. Welcome to the real world. I guess I will hand him chapter 2 and 3 by next week. Can I make it? Of course I can. Who Am I? I'm Zaraki Kenpachi & nothing is impossible.

TMT 1013 has meet its end today - boring class but is an 'A' class. Tutorial on Saturday but sorry I have Internet marketing class to attend.

EBM 3013 still have class next Tuesday (13/10/09) & we need to prepare to present the scenarios for the project - My boss will be back on Sunday & can we make it on Tuesday (10% success rate). Again marketing is about making impossible possible. We can turn dead into live - power of Marketing

EBP 3013 have the last two class soon. This Saturday (10/10/09) would be our team to present on our mega project - 5 marks for presentation & there is a final class on the (13/10/09) where a special guest will come to give a talk. For those who desperate for participation - This is your last chance (This semester is a challenge as only 10 class compared to last sem 13 or 14)

EBP 3073 is very uncertain. Blur all the time but due to good relationship with the lecturer, I aspect the most less effort subject to get an 'A'

EBP 3023 is dead. The carry marks has out and I only score 40/60. Based on my past history and commitment. It's over for me. No need to hope much. 'B' is the target. What to do? That's my limit. I have the tips dor final but how reliable - dunno and is a gamble. Higher risk higher return. Is do or die. I would not repeat my mistakes twice.

Remember to prepare questions and your project before seeing him. Going there empty handed will cause dissatisfaction to him. He said that, better don't come if come unprepared.

PMT - Predetermined Meeting Time

This is a new term that learn yesterday from Uncyclopedia where is referring to Malaysian time zone which I totally agree with. Malaysian have PMT +1 & +2 depending to geographical locations.

What is PMT?

PMT is Predetermined Meeting Time which shows the time of a meeting attended. PMT +1 & +2 means that, Malaysian follows the time zone whereby meeting were attended late 1 or 2 hours from the actual meeting time. Just being exposed to this term, I was able to experience it today.

Lol? But is true, how? This morning, my boss wake me up at 8am for going to do an interview with the boss of Chicago 7 at 9am. What the hell? I was shock & not prepared at all. No choice, cause both boss were busy and if we do not do this interview, the whole group will die. Thus, I rush myself and luckily we manage to meet the owner of Chicago 7 on time - PMT haha +1 & +2 but not plus 1 or 2 hours nor minutes.

We meet & interview the manager at 9.15am. OMG. I hate it but what to do. I'm born as a bloody Malaysian. Stuck in here and have to follow the PMT +1 & +2 system.

Business Strategy - Good or Bad ???

Hi, I'm back - It is sure a harsh weekend for me - with all the comments of dissatisfaction, but is non of my concern - "Orang Lain mati, Dia Punya Pasal" la but of course not to my friends. Anyways, enough of cock talking and this is the story.

Last Saturday, I went to The Spring for a nice dinner to reward & relax myself - & I get a good dinner at Kim Bay.

When I was about to pay my parking ticket, I found a very shocking news which is the change of the parking rate which is shown as below.

I know where to park during weekdays ^^

From the implication of the new price rate, The Spring would have rake more profit from the new car-park at outdoor (last time free, now RM1 per entry) & the price increase for basement parking during weekdays (last time RM1 per entry, now RM2 per entry - 100% increase). But seems like the forgot the effect of this change of price.

In my opinion, this is a very bad strategy, why?

If want to increase the price, all must increase together with the same rate. This means that the weekend & public holiday rate should not be generalize with the weekdays rate. This will only discourage people to come on weekdays but come only weekend - as the locals are damn kiasu to lose (kedekut). I believe that, if they separate it people will still come as people here is very high purchasing de (according to my theory) which explains they must at least go there once a week to spend. And this create a win-win situation where the consumer would not feel cheated to go on weekdays & The Spring can rake even more profit.

Besides that, the capacity of The Spring will not be fully utilized. The crowd would appear more weekend compared to weekdays & this shift of trends does not benefits The Spring. Weekend there would be more traffic & weekdays will be much lower - this would definitely affect the weekdays revenue of tenants in The Spring. The Spring should encourage people to come more on weekdays as it is the best time to serve them. Today our TMT1013 Web Design & Technologies Lecturer, Mr. Shahrulnizam announce that our web redesign have been postponed due to the Unimas Web maintainance. Haha. Thus, we are no longer require to do it until further notice. Haha, for those who is pandai-pandai to start early hoping to finish early, I congratulate them but I believe that, Malaysian attitude will not do their work until the last minute. Thus, I guess is a relief to those guys as I believe all "Habuk pun tak ada" - either way is not my concern. I just aim for a better marks for my course this semester.

Dear readers, this is a promotions for those who is living in Kota Samarahan or UNIMAS. The days in UNIMAS is sucks with assignments & projects. The badnews is, you will have no time to do your laundry & even if you have, there is always a risk in getting it polluted by the environment - Insects & Cigarette's smoke. Thanks to the brilliant architecture and engineering of our collages in Unimas, the probability of getting a good sun for laundry is less than 50% including the weather factor.

Thus, why bother to save RM0.50 per day and suffer the failure of doing laundry. The first alternative used by me is going to the automated laundry machine provided by UNIMAS in the Bunga Raya Collage. Is RM3 per wash & RM3 per dry. Is affordable but there is five set backs for us in Cempaka.

We have to waste the time traveling from Cempaka to Bunga Raya (30 mins wash, 40 mins dry)

The quantity of laundry is limited - overload will cost unclean laundry

There is a risk of machine malfunction - due to our Malaysian Culture

Availability of the machines - Kiasuness of the Bunga Raya residents

The drying process is not 100% confirmed, It can still be wet after drying process

Thus is the main point. New alternative - Hustle and time free. All you need to do is drop-by in the morning & it will be ready in the evening.

Operation Time:

Weekdays - 8.30am - 8.30pm
Saturday - 8.30am - 7.00pm
Sunday - 8.30am - 5.00pm

To my friend, course-mate & group mate "M", don't be offended by "C". To be true, do you feel pity to stuck with me? I guess our "C" is out of idea to shoot me - include my friend and hers too, in the battle is much of a coward behavior. Sorry la, I guess you are the one who is timid and that's why you are offended by my creative posting. Detail. My post never directed to who but it is just an objective comment on the truth. Please read properly before replying. Get offended means you admit to my comment. (Siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas) "M", a bit of advice from me, "C" is dangerous & might use you to achieve the objective. Judge it yourself.

I'm proud of my name + my family (NG ZHEE HOONG). I did not use it in commonly with my friend nor in blog is because my name is too great to be pronounced, even spell it also can wrong. So I have decided to keep it to myself as people only insulting it by wrongly pronounce or misspell it. I created a win-win situation for me & my friends. I associate myself with Zaraki Kenpachi because I admired him - the character. By the way, who are you to judge me from using Zaraki Kenpachi?

I'm true of myself and never covers my action with excuses. I need not to clarify on this. Only me & your lord knows. By the way, my lord is myself - I only believe in myself, Do you? I must admit that my English is not good. I misinterpret peoples comment to me. TRUE. But do you know the value of Communication & Command of language "C"? The main purpose of communication is to ensure that the intended message from the sender reach the receiver accurately. But what I saw on that comment is more insult than praise. Literature says that we must look outside the box but for me there is no box. So whether what is the true meaning of your statement - only you know it & I'm not interested. But comment my is a straight forward type - no need to hide behind beautiful words.

I must thank you from clearing out the true meaning of the comments. I will also take your advice on read more books. But for your level, books is the only thing you could come out with. A piece of advice: Command of language could be improve from communication too and books is to low for me. I read JOURNALS. Thus, keep those books to yourself. By the way, please look at your own comment on me (your 2 posting). I guess your English is not that good too - full of holes. Oh, Ya. I forgot that, this is a blog and there is no rule on what language to use (my bad, my bad Haha). Of course you have the right to say anything you want but please don't involve other party but never accredit them.

This is the story of my Cais experience where I was fined RM0.80 due to late return. This happens almost 2 months ago at August and today only I manage to settle it.

Why is this happening? Am I broke? Gosh (=.=)

The truth is, according to my friend, if we own something to UNIMAS, especially $$$, we could be barred from taking final exam.

No final = 'F' no matter how high your carry marks is.

Thus, will the value of Final Exam to me is worth only 80 cents? Think yourself?

This is what happen, during the mid-term break at August, I went back to KL for holiday. I borrowed 2 books in the same time and due in the middle of my holiday. Luckily I found out about book renew via net. But, only limited to UNIMAS internal connection - intranet. Great, thus I got overdue and fined RM0.80.

Along the time I have tried several times to pay but seems fail - due to reasons

No people at counter - Puasa = semua hilang
Assignments stacking - no time to go CAIS
The person in-charge not in - I cannot take ur money cause I cannot issue receipt
System down - Cannot pay as the system will not be updated
Raya break - Accountant holiday (cannot process your fine)
etc. (forgot already @.@)

Thus, the conclusion is, I settle my fine, I should be fine.

C = Cempaka - Cleanliness

As for the cleanliness in Cempaka, it is hopeless. This is because of the Malaysian culture. Why I say so? This is because whenever there is human, there will be rubbish and the place would be very dirty. Food leftover & Cigarette ash is the most disgusting one where it attracts many insects and create a very bad smell. The worst part is, there were in public study place - Study rooms and study there is hopeless now. Besides that, students here are F**kers where they use the room, open the windows but never close it - which cause the rain to flood the whole place. Conclusion, study rooms are condemned and the cleaners just overlook it.

An intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence. The term "IQ", from the German Intelligenz-Quotient, was coined by the German psychologist William Stern in 1912 as a proposed method of scoring early modern children's intelligence tests such as those developed by Alfred Binet and Théodore Simon in the early 20th Century. Although the term "IQ" is still in common use, the scoring of modern IQ tests such as the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale is now based on a projection of the subject's measured rank on the Gaussian bell curve with a center value (average IQ) of 100, and a standard deviation of 15, although different tests may have different standard deviations.

IQ scores have been shown to be associated with such factors as morbidity and mortality, parental social status, and to a substantial degree, parental IQ. While its inheritance has been investigated for nearly a century, controversy remains as to how much is inheritable, and the mechanisms of inheritance are still a matter of some debate.

IQ scores are used in many contexts: as predictors of educational achievement or special needs, by social scientists who study the distribution of IQ scores in populations and the relationships between IQ score and other variables, and as predictors of job performance and income.

The average IQ scores for many populations have been rising at an average rate of three points per decade since the early 20th century with most of the increase in the lower half of the IQ range: a phenomenon called the Flynn effect. It is disputed whether these changes in scores reflect real changes in intellectual abilities, or merely methodological problems with past or present testing.

Haha, this is based on my perception towards my lecturer Dr. Khairil who teaches us Startegic Management (EBM 3013)

This semester we do not have Mid Term for EBM 3013. Thus we were given a mid-term Assessment which contributes (30%)

There is 3 parts which is:

Part 1: (5%)

A (convincing) explanation detailing your positive contribution(s) to the progress of your group assignment

Part 2: (5%)

One or two pages of your bio-data and profile. You must include a picture of your self

Part 3: Case Study (20%)

You are the CEO of a recording company based in Kuala Lumpur. You have several popular local artistes under your label. However, you are facing tough competition from Indonesian based artistes. Sales revenue have plummeted more than 60% last year. The peak local music industry association has sent you a letter requesting you to be part of the team to lobby the government in requesting among other things, an imposition of a “punitive special” tax on Indonesian albums, singles and music videos. In addition you are also asked to lobby the government to impose a severe limit on the airing of Indonesian songs on radios. State your stand on this issue. Specifically what do you think is (are) the best way(s) to counter Indonesian competition? Focus your answer on both, the music industry and your company. State what the industry should do and then state what your company will do.

To give face to my friend I would rate this food 3 star. The ingredient is just carrot cake, oil, egg and preserved vegetable 'Tung Choi'. To me personally. this is just so.. so.. Nothing special about it. If compare to Fried Carrot Cake in KL - this is rubbish. Finally the price is damn expensive. RM3 so damn little. Thus is my first and last. In KL, RM3.80 you can get 2 to 3 times the quantity as above and of course here is Kuching. Zzz.
